When we set out to build Marble, we wanted our members to be able to organize, compare, and shop for all of their insurance in one app. And as of today, that includes commercial insurance!
We’re excited to launch a new commercial insurance experience, supported by our partner at Envoy Insure and powered by Herald, that will give Marble members the ability to shop and receive bindable, digital quotes from leading commercial insurance companies. As of today, customers can shop with Coterie Insurance and Cowbell, with more providers coming over the next few months.
Why commercial insurance?
Because Marble members are business owners, too! Nearly 20% of our members own or lead small- and medium-sized businesses, which means they also need insurance policies to manage their risk. While Marble has had a robust shopping marketplace for personal insurance policies all along, we haven’t had the same experience available for commercial policies — until now.
That’s why we made the decision to partner with two leaders in the commercial insurance space — Envoy Insure, powered by Herald — to launch an online marketplace that will give Marble members access to leading carriers, including Coterie Insurance and Cowbell. In just a few taps, Marble shoppers will receive competitive, bindable quotes for critical insurance products, all online. And for those with questions about what types of commercial insurance policies they’ll need for their business, we have a team of agents standing by to help.
One reason why you should pat yourself on the back for getting commercial insurance
Because it’s a legal requirement! But we still think you should get a round of applause for protecting your business, even if having a General Liability policy of some kind is necessary to get your business off the ground in the first place.
While you may have a passing familiarity with General Liability insurance, there are many other types of commercial insurance that you might want to take a look at. Here’s a quick list of a few of the more common options:
- Commercial Property Insurance: Put simply, this will cover the building(s) your business operates from and its contents.
- Business Interruption (or Income) Insurance: This policy pays out a cash benefit to replace lost income if your business can’t operate because of a natural disaster or other covered hazard.
- Cyber Insurance: Often required under contractual obligations, this policy covers your business from cyber security threats that fall outside of other liability policies.
- Business Owners Policy: This is actually a package of policies that generally includes property, business interruption/continuation, and liability insurance. It’s a great way to check a number of boxes with one product.
Not sure what policies you might need for your business? Get in touch with a Marble agent - we’d be happy to talk you through it!
What to know about buying commercial insurance
To get a quote for commercial insurance, start by logging into your Marble account and heading to the Marble Marketplace. You can also visit our commercial insurance portal directly.
However you get there, you’ll then be asked a series of questions:
- The type of policies you’re looking to buy. Choose from general liability, business owners policy, and cyber — with more options to come.
- Confirm the date you’d like coverage to begin.
- From there, you’ll be asked a series of basic questions about your business, including the name (duh!), mailing address, the number of employees, and years of operation.
Once you’ve worked your way through the questions, you’ll be presented with your quotes. And if you have any questions as you go through the process, you can always reach out to the Marble team at agency@marblepay.com.
And don’t forget: after you’ve purchased your commercial insurance policy, you can log back into your Marble account and add the Declaration Page to your account under the “Other Insurance Documents” section. That way, you’ll have all your plan details handy whenever you need them — alongside the personal insurance policies you had in your Marble account all along.
